The great San Francisco Earthquake of 1906 was a terrible loss of life and property. It is still listed as one of the worst natural disasters in California's history. Thousands of lives lost and thousands of building and homes gone plus thousands of citizens homeless for over three years. San Franciscans would rebuild the city better than ever. However the dead could not be replaced.
